A Brief History 

          Transplant Nursery came into existence as a result of a distinct love of everything that grows in the plant kingdom.  The late George Beasley was an avid plant collector.  He brought plants home from everywhere he traveled and these became the backbone of his own garden. This garden still exists today and offers breathtaking beauty each spring.  His first love was Camellias, then wild flowers and finally the rhododendron species.  He started a hybridization program with Native Azaleas which resulted in crosses which are in the trade today.  His retail /mail order catalog created interest and sales from plant enthusiasts in many states.  As he sometimes would say, he started a nursery in order to help finance the many plants he saw and absolutely had to have.

     At thirteen Jeff Beasley, George's son, was taught by George to hybridize Native Azaleas and he became interested in all facets of growing plants.  In 1980, Jeff and Lisa, his wife, started working in his small nursery.  After a short time growing plants, it was very apparent to them that the nursery industry was where they wanted to spend their lives.  In 1983 George became seriously ill and died in 1984.  Mary Beasley, Lisa, and Jeff continued to operate the nursery as a retail / mail order nursery until the middle 1990s.  Jeff had always had the desire to become a wholesale only nursery.  In 1998 Jeff's mother, Mary, retired and they discontinued the retail / mail order part of the company and dedicated all available resources to our wholesale customers.  Jeff and Lisa's two daughters, Camilla and Kelsey Beasley, also became part of the nursery during this time and their love for horticulture was propagated.

     Transplant Nursery's staff is knowledgeable and caring. They have expanded their nursery each year and are extremely proud of their quality product.  They consider quality and honesty to be their greatest assets.  Their pledge to you is that they will continually strive to meet the needs of their customers while always delivering a quality product at a fair price.
